Almenara Golf offers 27 different holes in 3 x 9 hole setup split into 3 different 18 hole arrangements. Opened in 1998 and designed by the well respected and world renowned Dave Thomas, the course was fully remodelled by the legendary golfer Manuel Piñero.
In 2023 the club was awarded the IAGTO Outstanding Service award – Each year the IAGTO (International Association of Golf Travel Operators) honour a small number of golf destinations and tourism businesses around the world for their contributions to the industry.
Green Fees at Almenara range from €27 in low season, €72 in mid season and rise to €95 in high season when booked through Leading Courses.

The course at Almenara is divided into 3 varied 9 holes and each arrangement can be played as 3 different 18 hole courses. The course as a whole is surrounded by thick Mediterranean forest, aged olive groves and limestone mountain features.
The three 9 hole courses are named Alcornoques (Corn Oaks), Pinos (Pines) and Lagos (Lakes) and can be played in 3 different 18 hole arrangments.

The tightest of the 3 courses is definitely the Pinos, featuring tight and tricky fairways lined on both sides by pine trees. The Lagos course provides some very challenging risk reward moments around the large turquoise lakes, bring plenty of balls! Finally the Alcornoques provides some of the most spectacular views and dramatic holes on the courses at Almenara.
All three course combinations provide a varied mixture of golf, definitely challenging and a requirement for precision, good course management and a cool head under pressure. The courses are divided into the following holes and distances:
Pinos – 2 par 5’s, 4 par 4’s and 3 par 3’s – par 35
Alcornoques – 2 par 5’s, 5 par 4’s and 2 par 3’s – par 36
Lagos – 2 par 5’s, 5 par 4’s and 2 par 3’s  – par 36

Almenara is located just 20 minutes from Gibraltar International Airport. The course and hotel facilities are only 10 minutes from the beach resort of Sotogrande and the sandy beaches of the Costa del Sol. The larger beach resort of Estepona is just 30 minutes along the coast, offering a wider range of hotels, restaurants and bars.
