Golf Ibiza is one of the best golf courses in the Balearics in terms of variety. It’s home to the more intense Golf de Ibiza course, which is a par 72, 18-hole course. This main course demands concentration and skill, although it can be enjoyed by all handicap levels. Golf Ibiza is also home to Roca Llisa, which is a more laid back, 9 hole golf course.
The main course at Golf Ibiza can be defined by its tree lined holes, tight and dry fairways, and overall hilly topography. The course is surrounded by piney hills, which creates a truly dramatic backdrop. Scenery defines many golf holidays in the Balearics, as proven by this stunning course.
The first hole measures 550 metres and was at one point one of the longest golf holes in Spain. While this par 5 features a big green, there’s an intimidating bunker that you must avoid to score well.
You encounter your first water hazard at hole 5. There’s also one at hole 6, which demands a powerful strike to get it over the water. Hole 8 has the most difficult water hazard, given that two large lakes protect the green. The 18th hole is the most picturesque, which rises in a straight, tubular shape towards the hole.
This course does not have a hotel on sitet, so it cannot be classed as one of the best golf resorts in the Balearics, however the affiliation with Azullines hotels means you’ll be able to find plenty of accommodation options throughout Ibiza with packages including golf.
Golf Ibiza is located just to the East of the bustling town of Ibiza and can be reached in just 15 minutes from the Airport. The resort is part of the hotel chain Azulinehotels so contains everything needed for a golf getaway. For anyone wanting to just play the course and stay elsewhere, there are many smaller resorts nearby and the beach towns of Roca Llisa and Cala Llonga are just 10-15 minutes away. This area of Ibiza has several fantastic bars, restaurants and beaches to easily turn your golf trip into a more relaxing vacation.
