Amazing golf holidays in the Balearics are made by well kept greens like Golf Maioris. Opened in 2006, the championship golf course is medium difficulty, hilly, and scenic. The course is the collaborative effort of Romeo Sala and Dieter Cabus, who succeeded in creating a varied course that complements the surrounding nature.
It’s 6,347 metres in length and has natural hazards growing throughout. The 18 holes are not only flanked by olive, pine, and carob trees but vegetation can be found growing right in the middle of the fairways.
There are also plenty of sand traps throughout, three of which can be the par 4 first hole. Not only are the putting greens surrounded by bunkers, but they also feature steep run offs, meaning precision putting is really needed around Maoiris to score well.
To make things more difficult, hole number 4 is an island green, so much concentration is needed to ensure your ball doesn’t roll off into the water hazard. This 483-metre hole is generally considered the course’s signature.
The course previously had a bad reputation for unkept greens but in recent years the grass has been looking a lot healthier. So much so that it is now considered one of the top 10 golf courses in the Balearics.
Not only good for golf, but Maioris Golf is also considered one of the best golf resorts in the Balearics for its fantastic restaurant and clubhouse, great food menu, top level service, and a lovely terrace area.
