Buenavista Golf is situated in the extreme North Western corner of the Canary Island of Tenerife, close to the town of Buenavista del Norte. Designed by the late great Seve Ballesteros, Buenavista Golf course is one of the top 10 in the Canary Islands, nestled on the rugged coast line directly under the spectacular Teno mountain range and with vast stretching views out over the Atlantic Ocean.
Opened in 2003, Buenavista has rapidly become one of Tenerife’s most popular and famous courses. Golfers are treated to a spectacular 18 hole par 72 track taking in the wild volcanic coastline, providing stunning sunsets over the ocean amongst mighty palm trees, turquoise lakes and sandy yellow bunkers.
The course itself is very challenging and requires precision from the off, golfers with wayward strikes will need to bring plenty of balls as the ocean can come into play on many of the holes here. Once in the central part of the course the hazards still present themselves in the form of a large central lake and waterfalls down into smaller ponds and waterways. The greens are very puzzling and fast with several of them creating difficult lines and a true challenge for even the lowest handicappers.
Facilities at Buenavista include the friendly clubhouse with terrace bar and restaurant. Driving range, 2 practice putting greens, chipping area and the now famous Ballesteros Natural Golf School. The year round warm climate offers average temperatures of 23 degrees and location wise just 60 minutes stunning drive from Tenerife North Airport.
Buenavista must be considered a bucket list course on the island of Tenerife not just for the course and challenge, but for the journey to get there and the mind blowingly beautiful location.
