The Club de Golf Barcelona course is located 27km from the centre of Barcelona. It’s considered one of the best golf courses in Barcelona thanks to it being in the peaceful wine region of El Penedés. This setting is perfect for golf. Surrounded by nature, and away from the noisiness of the city – a must-have feature when it comes to Barcelona golf holidays.Â
Two separate golf courses can be found on site – one 18-hole (par 72) and one 9-hole (par 31). Both courses were designed by the Spanish international golfer, José Maria Olazábal.Â
The location feels secluded, and the nearby Montserrat Mountains provide a great backdrop. However, the course consists of considerable elevation changes, which not only make the course difficult to play but also challenging to walk – a buggy is recommended.Â
Although the undulations suggest that the orography hasn’t been altered, this is not the case. Many counters were filled in and flattened out by Olazábal during the making of the course.Â
Known as Masia Bach, the main course is varied and challenging and has been used for many professional competitions. This includes the Peugeots Tour of Spain and the Ladies Masters.Â
Hole one starts the course off with a long par 5, while the second hole is a short par 3. This is the kind of variety you need to get used to when playing on this course. The 5th hole is the most difficult, with bunkers and several water hazards. The grass is perfect for golf, but the bunkers can be unforgiving.Â

Club de Golf Barcelona is situated up in the mountains North of Barcelona just 45 minutes from the heart of the city. The Airport at El Prat can be reached in 40 minutes and the beach resorts of Sitges & Casteldelfels in just under 1 hour. There is a hotel onsite meaning anyone wanting a more relaxing trip can stay right on the course. Neighbouring courses including El Prat and El Valles are reachable in just over 30 minutes offering a few different golf options in the area.
