Golf D’Aro Review

Golf D’Aro is considered one of the top 10 golf courses on the Costa Brava thanks to its spectacular views and pristine course condition.  While most golf resorts can be found at the foot of a hill, this course sits right at the top of a mountain.  The course consists of 18 stunning holes, some of which stretch out right along the edge of the mountain.

The course was designed by Ramón Espinosa, who laid out the course to take advantage of the position of the land and the natural vegetation. If your ball strays wayward then chances are you’ve lost it forever off the side of the mountain!  Plus the varied diverse fauna featuring cork, olive, and pine trees will block your way at several points around Golf D’Aro.

Given the panoramic views throughout, it’s basically impossible to pick a signature hole.  However, from the vantage point at tee 15, golfers can view everything from the Tossa de Mar to the Cape Begur in the distance.  If you’re going to take your camera along to any of the best golf resorts on the Costa Brava, it should definitely be this one.

Holes 6, 14, and 15 are generally considered to be the most difficult on the course.  14, which is located at the highest point in the course, is a particularly challenging par 3, whereas 15 is a downhill par 4 flanked by hazards on either side.

In addition to the main course, there’s also a 9 hole pitch and putt course on site for anyone in an earlier stage of their golf.   If you’re interested in a truly amazing golf holiday on the Costa Brava and want to take in spectacular views, definitely pay a visit to Golf D’Aro, you won’t be disappointed!
