In North East Catalunya you can find one of the best golf courses on the entire Costa Brava: Golf de Pals. Right next to the Pals beach lies a dense pine forest, and inside you’ll find a sprawling 18-hole golf course. The course consists of long pine corridors that provide as much shade as they do difficulty in play.Â
It’s not exactly as scenic as some of the other golf resorts in Costa Brava, but the dense vegetation gives it a unique and secluded appeal. The trees also keep the grass protected from the sun, which grows healthy, lush and green.Â
The first few holes are short, moderately straight, and narrow – however, you must watch out for the deep bunkers that protect several of the holes. Things continue in this fashion until you get to hole number 9, which features a massive lake that you have to get over, since there’s no option to go around it.Â
Things are kicked up a notch at hole 12, with its right dog leg and 421-metre length. Hole 14 is an inbound par 5 which features two difficult bunkers on the fairway and precision is needed to conquer this straight hole. 17 is a par 4 which features a difficult layout and two large trees in the fairway, this warms you up for the signature 18th – a narrow par 5.Â

Golf de Pals is located right on the beautiful coastline of Catalunya just outside the classy coastal towns of Begur and Sa Riera. The larger regional City of Girona is only 50 minutes away by car, the Airport at Girona can be also be reached in 50 minutes. Arriving to Barcelona means a 1 hour 40 minute journey to reach Golf de Pals. The neighbouring course at Emporda is very close just over 10 minutes away meaning anyone wanting other golf options can be content with a golf getaway here!
