Golf Peralada is a par 71 golf course which stretches 6,070 metres over 18 holes. It can be found in the Girona province, which is between the Costa Brava and the Pyrenees. It’s one of the best Costa Brava golf resorts in terms of course condition and amenities, the site is also home to a hotel, wine spa, and casino.
The course is resplendently green with olive and pine trees as well as healthy and highly playable grass. The course is also premier in terms of sustainability, having gained an Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) certificate from the European Union.
Compared to other Costa Brava golf courses, Golf Peralada has relatively few water hazards. However, water does provide an obstacle for some holes. This includes the 9th, with its water-surrounded green.
The first hole kicks things off with a slight dog leg, tough slope, and wide green. This hole is easy compared to the second, which is the toughest hole on the entire course. This par 4 is made extra tricky thanks to the out of bounds area, forests and strategically placed bunkers. There’s also a dog leg to the right and plenty of bunkers to watch out for around the green.
The fifth hole may be the course’s signature, with a tremendous cork oak in the middle of its fairway and a challenging approach needed to the green.
Overall, this course is a popular stop for golf breaks on the Costa Brava thanks to its extensive amenities and enjoyable challenging course.
