Designed by Manuel Piñero La Serena Golf is a spectacular 18 hole 6,100 metre long course set in beautiful surroundings on the shores of the impressive Mar Menor in Los Alcazares, Murcia Spain.
La Serena Golf opened in 2006, and was built around the 500 year old watchtower, known locally as the Torre de Rame. The course can prove very challenging at times, offering frequent water hazards, large well located bunkers, tricky undulating greens and varied offshore breezes from Mar Menor.
The golf course itself features gentle hills and undulating fairways, with sculptured flower shaped bunkers dotted in between lakes, greens and palm trees. The star attraction is several large lakes, abundant with wildlife, that intertwine through the course. The course is quite flat and not overly long but don’t let that trick you into thinking it’s easy! With the prevailing Levante wind and water hazards that come into play on 16 of the 18 holes, this course will test every level of golfer. Accuracy and precision off the tee is vital to avoid the numerous water features and avoid losing balls, a high level of golf is required to walk of La Serena with a respectable score.
La Serena is a fitting name for this course, which provides a peaceful and calming environment in the middle of the resort but shrouded in nature! La Serena Golf has a large clubhouse providing all facilities and services. Dressing rooms, Pro shop, caddy master and storage facilities for members and clients in general. Excellent food and drinks at “La Serena” restaurant, or more casual dining at the large bar cafeteria with a terrace overlooking the Mar Menor sea and the golf course. A perfect setting for an excellent golf getaway in beautiful Murcia.
