The Lykia Links Antalya is 603,000 square metres and was opened in 2008. Designed by Perry Dye, this course sits right on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea. This position gives it a natural undulating surface, which Dye sought to enhance with deep bunkers. By doing so, he’s created one of the top 10 golf courses in Turkey.Â
Onsite, you can also find the Lykia World Resort, which gives golfers a comfortable place to relax after a tough day on the course. With pool suites offered and a fantastic restaurant and bar, this is one of the best golf resorts in Turkey.Â
The most notable thing about Lykia Links is that it is a true Scottish-style links course. The only hazards are bunkers and rough areas and there are barely any trees on the course. However, a freshwater lake does appear around holes 7 and 8. Plus, the course’s positioning next to the sea creates further difficulty as the sea breezes can send balls astray. All things considered, this is a pretty challenging course.Â
The grass is Paspallum, which not only ensures that the course is healthy and playable but also creates fast greens.Â
Holes 13-16 are located in the natural dunes and serve as the most challenging, especially if you get stuck. Skill, patience and precision are the three main requirements of this course. Luckily, if you’re having a bad game, you can enjoy the brilliant views of the sea afforded by each hole.Â
