Opened in 1925, the Parador de Malaga Golf Club is the oldest golf course on Spain’s Costa del Sol. Designed by Tom Simpson, the same architect who designed the world famous Turnberry and Muirfield courses in Scotland the fairways here are steeped in history. The facilities at the Parador de Malaga are always in perfect condition thanks to the years of attentive care and management by the friendly dedicated team here. Located just 5 minutes from Malaga International Airport, the club is nestled directly alongside the pure sandy white beach and the turquoise Mediterranean sea.
The Parador de Malaga is a very open course, mainly flat and with little water, however 2 of the holes run parallel to the beach providing stunning open vistas and a cool prevailing ocean breeze. The fairways are wide and quite forgiving but often flanked by large pine, eucalyptus and mimosa trees, which create a dangerous hazard requiring precision off the tee. Length wise the course, can be considered one of the longest in Spain, this adds another challenge to the amateur golfer.
