The Club de Golf El Prat is not only classed as one of the best golf courses in Barcelona but also the whole of Spain. This premium golf resort has served as the site of the Spanish Open 10 times since 1956, most recently in 2015. In total it has hosted over 250 championships.
There are many golf resorts in Barcelona, but none are as historically significant as the El Prat.
While the current course is not the original (it was moved and redesigned in the early 2000s), it still maintains the premium quality of the first course. Just over half an hour from Barcelona’s city centre, the course features a total of 45 holes and three unique configurations that players can follow.
You can choose either the pink, green, or yellow course. The pink course consists of narrow, technical, and demanding holes. The green course is composed of long shots in the first half and short ones in the second. The yellow course starts easy but finishes with tricky long shots.
There’s no signature hole overall. However, the pink course’s hole 6 and the last hole on the yellow course are noted for their scenery and difficulty.
The fact it’s been used professionally regularly over the last 70 years proves it’s still one of the best golf resorts in Barcelona. There are several hotels that the club is partnered with nearby, so you can stay near the course.
