Real Sevilla is one of Spain’s most stunning courses and located just 10km from the centre of Seville. This means there’s a plethora of hotels, restaurants and bars just a few minutes from the first tee.
Designed by Jose Maria Olazabel and officially opened in 1992, the course boats a rich history of hosting tournaments such as the European challenge tour, the Spanish open, Andalusian open and almost hosting the Ryder cup in 1997.
The course is immaculate and contains some of the most pristine greens, lush mature trees, startling blue ponds and pure white bunkers. With a selection of tee boxes available this course is perfect for golfers of all aptitudes. To play 18 here is to tick off one of Spain’s bucket list courses.
Real Sevilla Is a Par 72 Course consisting of 4 par 3’s, 10 par 4’s and 4 par 5’s. The course is divided into 6 marked tee distances numbered as follows:
65 – 6529 Metres – Slope – 140
62 – 6185 Metres – Slope – 135
56 – 5637 Metres – Slope – 126 M / 130 F
53 – 5305 Metres – Slope – 122 M / 129 F
46 – 4626 Metres – Slope – 115 M / 117 F
38 – 3787 Metres – Slope – 104 M / 108 F
Signature hole at Real Club Sevilla Golf
It has to be the stunning and long par 4, 15th hole. This 400m beast requires a precise and powerful drive missing the lake on both sides and avoiding the thick woodland further into the left side of the fairway.
To carry 240+ yards is to set up a nice position for the second shot. A pinpoint iron shot will then be required to land on the green and take one all 3 of the protective bunkers. Come up short and find the largest sand trap or miss narrowly to each side and you will find bunkers long both left and right.
Rarely do you need to focus on 2 perfect shots in such a spectacular setting to even have a chance of holing out for par on this tricky and rapid green.
Hole 15 will live on long in the memory for both a good or a bad score.
In summary, it doesn’t get much better than playing here. The course has an element of class and prestige, the facilities and friendly staff are second to none and post round you are very close to enjoying one of Europes most scintillating cities.
