The Pines golf course in Belek is one half of the Sueno Golf Club – the other being titled “Dunes”. If you’re looking for perfect golf holidays in Turkey, you should definitely stay at this double-course resort. The Pines is the longer and more difficult of the two and can be characterised by the large umbrella pine trees that line its holes. The course was designed by Bob Hunt and was first opened to golfers in late 2007.
The Pines is a par 69 and measures 5,643 metres of rolling and sometimes sandy ground. This course starts out easy, with a hole appropriately named “the Big Easy”. This simple hole features a wide fairway and gives golfers a chance to warm up. This warm-up should prepare them for the water feature found on the second hole.
The 12th hole is the signature and it perfectly sums up what the course is all about. This hole features a challenging dog leg through a dense pine forest, which is as atmospheric as it is difficult. Even once you make it through the trees, you still have to take on the large bunkers positioned around the putting green.
While it may not be amongst the most difficult golf courses in Turkey, it is still a lot of fun.
Near the Pines course, you’ll find two separate accommodation options. Both the Sueno Deluxe and the Sueno Golf Hotel are amongst the best-rated golf hotels in Turkey.
