Tecina Golf is located on the Canary Island of La Gomera and was designed by famous British golfer and course architect Donald Steel. He described Tecina as his most exciting and challenging project which really says something about how stunning this unique course really is, and why it’s considered one of the finest in the Canary Islands.
Golf here is very unique as the first tee is at the highest possible point on the entire course. After climbing up to start your round, and teeing off from the first, the entire following 17 holes make the way downhill finishing back at the bottom of the hill and the clubhouse alongside the Hotel Jardin de Tecina.
A very challenging course with something for everyone, the holes wind themselves down the hill and provide some stern ‘knee knocking’ moments. Some of these include a tough drive over the Tapahuga ravine on the 169-metre par 3 4th, while the 337-metre 10th has a very elevated tee box 45 metres above the green. Tecina really offers players an unforgettable round with panoramic views of the Lomada de Tecina and the mighty Teide volcano visible across the Atlantic Ocean on the neighbouring island of Tenerife.
The club house & bar has an airy terrace where golfers can enjoy food and refreshments with wide views out over the ocean. Tecina Golf also has a driving range, putting green and chipping green to warm up before your round. Year round sunshine and warm subtropical temperatures make golfing here a truly pleasurable experience in a sensational setting.
Tecina Golf is located on the small Canary Island of La Gomera. To reach this paradise golfers must take a short ferry from the neighbouring island of Tenerife (There are usually 3 ferries per day and they take around 50 minutes). Once on La Gomera there’s a 40 minute journey from the port of San Sebastian de La Gomera to La Tecina Golf, and players can stay alongside the course in the 4 star Hotel Jardin de Tecina.
