Villaitana Golf is home to two superb golf courses in Costa Blanca. While the region is full of exceptional golf courses, those who are on a golf break in Costa Blanca must make time to try out these two very different courses. Located in Benidorm, this golfing location is also one of the most easily accessible in the area.
The first of the two courses is called the Poniente Course and is 3,858 metres in length. It takes place partially on a hillside at the foot of the Finestrat Mountain Range, which provides it with some degree of undulation.
Although it has 18 holes, it’s relatively short – especially when you compare it to other Costa Blanca golf resorts. It consists of several par 3 and par 4 holes, which are ideal for perfecting your shorthand shots. The rolling hills also provide you with a great place to admire the sea in the distance.
The other course, the Villaitana Levante, is a championship course and slightly more challenging. This par 72 boasts three great lakes and an impressive 106 bunkers. With 6,576 metres in length, buggies are mandatory on this course. The 17th hole is this course’s signature.
This course first opened in 2005 and was designed by Jack Nicklaus. With few residential areas around it, the backdrop of this golf course feels totally natural.
Golf Villaitana is located just 30 minutes from the City of Alicante with a wealth of bars, restaurants and hotel options. The international Airport is just 35 minutes from the golf course providing a very convenient travel time. The famous coastal resort of Benidorm is just 10 minutes away with some stunning sandy beaches available for a relaxing getaway. The neighbouring course of Altea de Golf is 15 minutes away providing some variety in golf locally.
