Vale Do Lobo Ocean is a Par 73 and plays 6198 yards off the yellow tees and 5580 off the reds. Men require a handicap of 28 and ladies 36 to play here.
The highlight on the Ocean Course is unsurprisingly, the ocean holes. These are 3-5-6-11-14-15. Prepare for breathtaking views as the course opens up and meanders down to the sea and beautiful sandy beaches.
Vale do Lobo Ocean’s signature hole is probably number 11. A blind tee shot, followed by a mid iron onto a green that’s practically on the beach is certainly one for the photo album.
The 15th Par 3 is also quite a spectacular hole in terms of aesthetics. It’s worth taking a minute here to soak up the view and marvel at your surroundings.
Whilst the links style ocean holes rightly steal the headlines, the more open holes that were added by American architect Rocky Roquemore in 2003 provide some welcome relief. They provide an opportunity to open up and give it some from the tee box without suffering too much punishment when you get it wrong.
With Pine and Eucalyptus trees lining the fairways, some truly memorable views and a few tricky holes to test even the momst avid golfer, Vale Do Lobo is an excellent stop on any Algarve golfing holiday.
