There are five golf courses in the Quinta do Lago Resort.
Just a short drive away, you'll find Vilamoura, which has six additional golf courses.
Vale do Lobo is also nearby and is home to The Royal and Ocean Golf Course.
The Quinta do Lago south Course is frequently voted as a top 100 course in Europe and it's easy to see why.
It underwent a complete overhaul in 2020. The fairways stretching from tee to green were reseeded with Bermuda grass to create a striking carpet of green. The bunkers received a complete makeover, while the lakes on holes 3 and 17 were elevated to new heights.
If you can only play one course whilst on your golf break to Quinta do Lago, The South Course would be our pick.
The North Course is the best golf course for beginners in Quinta do Lago. That said, men still require a handicap of 28 and ladies 36 to play here.
Of the Five courses in the area, the North Course has the easiest holes and will suit golfers with a broad range of abilities.
If you don't have a handicap, Balaia Golf Course is your best option, located a few kilometres west of Vilamoura.
If you want to book a society golf trip to Quinta do Lago, San Lorenzo is ideal anda great option for larger groups. Tee times are more readily available than a lot of the other golf courses, so you stand a better chance of all getting out at the same time.
Many of the course’s holes play alongside stunning saltwater marshes, which comprise a significant portion of the landscape and make for some wonderful views from many of the holes.
Pinheiros Altos has the cheapest green fees in Quinta do Lago at just €80 in the low season, rising to €104 in the high season.
Contrast this to the likes of The South Course where green fees range from €143-€185 and you can see Pinheiros Altos represents superb value for money.
Laranjal is one of our favourite courses and could easily have featured as the best overall course. Instead, we've awarded it the status as the hardest golf course in Quinta do Lago, perfect for low handicappers.
There's so much to love about this course and too much to feature here (check out our full Laranjal review). There are plenty of challenging holes to provide a stiff test for even the most accomplished golfer, and is a wonderful course to put your skills to the test.
